Over the centuries, one of the most important areas of human activity in shaping the economy and maintaining the standard of living has been the use of transport links. Today, in the world where globalization is intensifying, international transport performs important functions because of its economic, political, military, cultural and demographic importance. The article discussed the general concept of international transport corridors, the main goals of their creation and general technical and economic characteristics. The opinions of local and foreign authors were given on the brief description of the initial conditions for the formation and development of international transport corridors.
