The article analyzes accidents that characterize the impact of the intensity of ground vehicle movement in the airport area on flight safety, based on data from known sources. It has been determined that the uneven distribution of ground vehicle traffic within the airport area can lead to serious accidents. Based on this, it is justified that the movement of ground vehicles in the airport area should be optimized in real time. Otherwise, flight safety cannot be ensured at the required level. Modern methods used to control the movement of ground vehicles have been examined, and their shortcomings have been identified. It is shown that modern control methods for vehicle movement are technically complex to implement and require specialized training for proper operation. The necessity of developing a new control method that is technically simpler to implement and does not require special preparation has been substantiated. A new control method has been proposed to improve the traffic intensity of ground vehicles in the airport area, based on delay lines. The use of delay lines ensures that signals coming from different points are aligned onto a single time plane. Such an operation algorithm of the control method simplifies the operator’s work and ensures more accurate decision-making. In this case, data collection in control zones is carried out through appropriate radio transmitters and receivers. The operating frequency of each radio channel is selected within a frequency grid allocated for a specific airport. The advantages of the proposed new control method have been demonstrated in comparison with the methods currently in use.
